Brian Evan Jones reporting ............10 Days Across the City gearing up

It’s three weeks before 10 Days Across The City, Winchester’s cross‑cultural arts festival, begins on Friday 28th October, and preparations are accelerating. The festival celebrates the creative work of the city, and will make its  first mark on residents and visitors in the shape of six huge posters, donated and printed by Hewlett Packard. Measuring a 1 metres by 2 metres, they will promote the festival in prominent locations across Winchester, including in the BROOKS Centre, Everyman Cinema and  Theatre Royal Winchester. Hampshire County Architects department have kindly stepped in to print and fit the largest poster, a massive  1.6 meters wide to fit a one whole window of the Discovery Centre.

Local people are also being asked to show their support for 10 Days and the creative community of Winchester by putting A4-size versions of the event poster into their own windows. These will be available to collect from the City gallery at the Screen Cinema,  and the Theatre Royal. - other venues being sought

Event Director Trish Bould said, ‘I’m so thankful to everyone who is stepping up to help all these fabulous posters will really start to get 10 Days Across the City onto the Winchester landscape. Now we hope that people across Winchester will follow example and display a poster at home and at work. With your help we hope 10 Days material will appear in every street in the city.’
